Temporary Temple it ain't that simple

12 Then Solomon prayed, “O Lord, you have said that you would live in a thick cloud of darkness. 13 Now I have built a glorious Temple for you, a place where you can live forever! I Kings 8:12-13

Then Solomon prayed, “O Lord, you have said that you would live in a thick cloud of darkness. Now I have built a glorious Temple for you, a place where you can live forever!” I Chronicles 6:1-2

18 Run from sexual sin! No other sin so clearly affects the body as this one does. For sexual immorality is a sin against your own body. 19 Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, 20 for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body. I Corinthians 6:18-20

20 “What!” they exclaimed. “It has taken forty-six years to build this Temple, and you can rebuild it in three days?” 21 But when Jesus said “this temple,” he meant his own body. 22 After he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered he had said this, and they believed both the Scriptures and what Jesus had said.  John 2:20-22

Okay so I did add some verses that was not included in today's reading.

After Solomon finished the temple he put what was important in the temple like The Ark and the silver, gold and various articles that his father David had dedicated.

We read that our bodies are a temple and there are 3 ways to put things in our temple.

Our mouth, our ears and our eyes.

What are we eating, smoking or taking that is destroying our temple?

What are we listening to that we are putting in to our temple?

What are we reading and looking at that we put in our temple?

Salomon's temple was magnificent but study the human body! What craftsmanship by the creator!

As we read on this year we will find out that this temple is temporary and we will get something new.

Keep reading and putting god's word in your temple!
